This is the best African restaurant and night scene location in Manchester in my opinion. Great food, friendly staff, great music, lovely interior and great night vibes. Never disappointed when I’m there. I always go for the Suya, pepper soup and Ayamase. I tasted my mums Fried rice too and that was very nice also! I’ll be ordering it next time I visit.

This place is polluted by noise from absurdly loud music on weekend nights. I actually thought I loved loud music but it seems the manager has a plan to wreck people’s eardrums especially on weekend nights. Got slightly better when the MC arrived. It’s unhealthy. My hearing isn’t the same even the morning after. The other issue is the incomprehensible delays. The type that leaves you sick from hunger induced dyspepsia from prolonged waiting times. Took over an hour to get served. No complaints about the food, but imagine eating sad and with little appetite for the food due to the observations I mentioned above? This wasn’t a one-off observation by the way.

This is a nice bar and lounge to go to. I have been here several times, no issues. But the one day I thought I could take my friends knowing that I won't be charged to enter, I was rudely told that me and my friends had to pay. The people who walked in before us were all Africans. They were not charged but as soon as the bouncer spotted me and my white friends he demanded that we pay I felt embarrassed, harassed and disrespected. I hate confrontation so I just payed and i even bought drinks while in chillz. I asked the people who were ahead of us if the paid and the said they didn't. What was interesting is that inside the club was not even busy. This is not the first time I have had comments made by othe white people that if your not african you are charged. I feel this very rude and unfair. There's better ways to make money. I shall not return here ever again. I hope the management improves the customer service at the door it was appalling.

Me and my friend have been to Chillz 3 times now. First time was for food which was nice but the portions were meagre for what we paid for. We were so disappointed so we've not had food since as you can get larger portions elsewhere for your money. Also the guy at the bar would not stop staring at me which put me off so much. He looks depressed like he's being forced against his will to stand at the bar. He's never smiled once and looking at his face completely depressed me and my friend. No customer service, zero. He didn't ask us how we liked the food. Next times we went was just for drinks. The coke and lemonade was flat and warm. Very disappointing. I had gin and lemonade. My friend had a spirit with coke. The woman used the same jigger without even rinsing it when she poured the spirit I think was Whisky then she poured my gin. She just didn't have a clue. The music was ok as was the general atmosphere of the place but please teach your staff how to pour drinks and customer service is key. The male staff need to stop staring at women as each time I've been it's put me off so much the intensity of the staring making me feel like I've landing from Space. Teach the staff to smile. Not much to ask really.

1st and last visit here. Waited 30 mins for someone to come take a drinks order, and waited another 20 minutes for said drinks to come to the table, they didn’t have any salmon left so I asked for a recommendation of something similar which, when it came out was nothing like salmon at all. My boyfriend’s beef was so tough and chewy he couldn't even eat it. 2 plates left with food and no one bothered to ask if everything was ok. When the bill came I’d been charged £30 for my fish alone and I can’t find any fish on the menu for £30 so throw in being ripped off too! There were 3 tables occupied so it wasn’t even busy on a Saturday night and I can see why! Avoid unless you like bland food, long waits and being ripped off
