NHS Greater Manchester Community Urgent Eye Care Service
We are a provider of this service which provides urgent assessment, treatment or referral for sudden onset eye problems such as flashes, floaters, vision loss or minor eye injuries. Call us if you have a problem.

Always call first – this is not a walk-in service. You will be able to explain your eye problem after which you may then be given self-care information, booked in for an appointment (virtual or in person), referred to hospital eye services, or referred to your GP practice if there are other health issues that need to be addressed.

I had an amazing experience at Dixon Optometrists. I was seen by Goha and he went over and beyond for me. I received very good care and felt listened to. He was very empathetic and did a thorough job. If anyone has any concerns about their eyes, I'll recommend you telephone them. They will triage you and offer you an appointment as necessary. They are also able to refer to the hospital with the right information to make the Doctors job easier. The ladies in reception were lovely as well.

Highly recommend the guys at Dixon Optometrists. I had a really bad cut to the eye with a piece of wood inside there, I passed Dixon on the way to work and popped in just to enquire, I was seen immediately by triage and the eye was investigated and wood removed within 30 minutes as an emergency walk in. This saved me sitting in A&E for hours and hours. The guys here are not only taking strain of the NHS but also offering a 5* service with a top set of staff in store!! Just hope next time I'm there it's not under the same circumstances!

All of the staff at Dixon’s are helpful and friendly. They are always very accommodating and try their best to fit you in and get you sorted as soon as possible. Gohar is a fabulous optician who always goes out of his way to make sure everything is explained. We have already recommended him to friends who live close by. They also have a great range of glasses frames to choose from. Thank you again Dixon’s :)

I've had a fantastic experience here. I've customized Ortho-K lenses, which are a type of rigid gas-permeable lenses. They only need to be worn at night, and I can see clearly in the morning after taking them off. Plus, they can help slow down the progression of my nearsightedness to some extent. All the examinations and care solutions for the Ortho-K lenses are included in the cost, and each examination experience has been great. The turnaround time for lens customization is also short. Overall, it's been a wonderful experience.

Have had a fantastic service from Dixons. The staff are friendly and super efficient and my optometrist Nina, could not have been more understanding and supportive. Ensured all the way through my problem that I understood where we were at, what to expect and followed up with Me to ensure a positive outcome was gained and left Me with no existing issues. HIGHLY recommend this wonderful, independent optometrist. First class, personal service.
