  • We are open for business.

Garratts Solicitors will be serving the public through the latest lockdown period, providing a broad range of legal services.

We have learnt to adapt and cater for people’s needs throughout the pandemic, conducting appointments online, on the phone and in person, strictly following government guidelines.

The Courts and Tribunal service have been hearing cases on line and are exempt from the second lockdown.

The pandemic has in many cases highlighted and created the need for legal advice, from making or amending a will, probate and estate administration, conveyancing and property advice and family advice.

Whatever your legal needs, please call to arrange an appointment to speak to one of our solicitors who will help you in the best possible way to suit your needs. We are here to help and will be able to advise you on how we can progress your matter, even during the lockdown period.

Please check out our risk assessment online. Our priority is to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff, their families and of course our clients and their families while at the same time continuing to maintain our usual high standard and wide range of services. Our business continues to operate well via email, telephone and conferencing facilities. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email or telephone or via our website www.garrattssolicitors.co.uk.

As my review on trust pilot was removed by garretts, I thought I'd try here. Do not use this company. Beyond incompetent, forgetting to order important paperwork. Rude and dismissive, then say everything is done, then suddenly more unanswered questions theyve forgotten about! Move already delayed 3 weeks because of this company. And removing negative comments so they don't show them for what they really are proves exactly the type of company they are... avoid at all costs, for you own wellbeing

THIRD PARTY INVOLVEMENT THEREFORE NOT A DIRECT CLIENT, JUST HAVING A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE DUE TO THEIR INCOMPETENCE. Please note, I am aware that garratts are removing all negative reviews on trustpilot, hence putting the review on Google. I please invite them to phone me for information and I will happily provide my details. I think blanketly removing all negative reviews, and being allowed to do so is a disgrace. The conveyancing department is an absolute disgrace, and I would seriously discourage anyone from using them. I am in the unfortunate position of being the third party, therefore unable to contact them to make a complaint myself as solicitors only accept complaints from their own clients despite having a negative impact on multiple people within the chain. Enquires were requested in October from the purchasers solicitors, with completion due on November 27th. 5 minutes before closing on November 18th they phoned their client to say they haven't actually requested the documents they need for the enquires. They said they were told that the paperwork hadn't been requested as "they didn't know they had to" (seriously, isn't that a requirement of the job, to read the requests and actually know what they're doing??? I can't imagine not knowing how to do my job and keeping it!) The people we are purchasing off have also told us that when asking how the sale is progressing they were told "well i have 13 other clients", and regarding answering the urgent queries (that they had had for weeks and completely ignored) "I might get chance to look at it tomorrow I don't know". The paperwork was finally received on November 25th, so garratts were phoned by our solicitors asking to confirm a completion date of 14th December. Now they've decided they have enquires they need to ask on that purchase! Despite that purchase being ongoing since MARCH, and the couple we are buying off being told last week that everything was ready to go on their purchase. Just an absolute waste of space and I would never recommend. If I was looking at buying a house in the future, I would honestly change my mind if garratts were the solicitors working for the seller

Rude and judgmental and intimidating, I was advised by them myself to take documents in which I did so, only to receive a rude phone call by someone named Andrew which I found was intimidating and judgmental especially when I’m in a upsetting serious situation regarding my sons safety. I didn’t feel I could speak to them I could put my trust in them if I wanted too. Obnoxious and confusing. When someone is in need of your help you should be more open minded and find out the beginning before jumping the gun when you ain’t even spoken to me face to face. Didn’t even get the ball rolling just not helpful.

Don’t recommend dealing with them. Shocking service from start to finish. 4 months to complete house sale with only 2 houses in the chain. Everything was done last minute after lots of complaining by everyone in the chain.
