I got some help from Helping Hands Home Care when I had to recover from my second surgery in the same year as the pandemic and repeated lockdowns. I was so overwhelmed and my resilience reserves were depleted. Helping Hands did my assessment and set me up with carers quickly, and did a great job of matching me up with a couple of people who could give me the help I needed. At first it was more nursing, medication reminders, and help with meals, and a couple of weeks later when I was moving around more independently, it was help with cleaning, housework, and even DIY and cleaning out my garden shed! They really helped me to get back on my feet and re-establish my independence and wellbeing.

It’s been about 2 months since we've had carers to help with Mum who has Alzheimer's and I am very happy with how it’s going so far. All the carers have been lovely, caring and helpful. They have been especially supportive in trying to find activities they can do with Mum.
