We instructed Meridian Construction & Refurbishments Ltd to carry out the joinery work involved in installing four en-suite bathrooms, one communal bathroom and kitchen shelves in a 10-bedroomed property. Meridian carried out the majority of the work but demanded full payment before final snags were carried out (baring in mind, at this point, we had paid the majority of the costs). The director of the company then proceeded to gain access to the property with a key we had provided them with, before destroying all of the works they had carried out with hammers and crow bars. This left the house in a complete mess. They then left the property and have refused to provide any compensation, refund any of the £3,986.52 we paid to them or provide us with their insurance details. The property was tenanted during these events and the occupants have been deeply shaken. Their trust in us as an accommodation provider has been severely compromised. Meridian have unfortunately not cooperated with us following this incident. We have had to pay a £525.00 clean-up fee to remove the mess Meridian made with a skip and have lost several weeks' worth of rent that would have been due to us if the works had originally been completed with Meridian on schedule. This company is ran by people who think violence is the way to make money. Do not use this company if you wish for any professionalism. We are now reclaiming costs through court.
