Located on Manchester Road Swinton, the Morning Star is a community favourite pub and food venue. The red brick pub dates back to 1890, but inside there’s a fresh, modern feel while retaining plenty of character and charm. There’s large wrap around beer garden to the front and side.
The three main rooms are served by the central bar where you can find cask ales, crisp lagers, bottled beers, plus wines and premium spirits. On the menu there’s something for everyone with pub classic dishes, curries, fresh salads and vegan options. Make sure you make the most of the regular food deals.
The pub offers regular live entertainment, including a fortnightly pub quiz and karaoke nights at the weekend. The Morning Star is ideal for watching live sports across the week on Sky and BT Sports with several large screen TVs. There’s also a darts and dominoes teams.

Had the Sunday dinner, the best part was the veg. Carrot and swede mash was lovely and was the broccoli. The meat, I opted for the turkey was quite fatty round the edges. The roast potatoes weren't cooked properly, very under cooked and looked pale. More like boiled potatoes than roasts and there was much gravy. I get sticking the Yorkshire pudding on top looks 'aesthetic' but there's not enough gravy to soak up the dryness. The staff were very friendly though. They are all happy and polite. That's why I've given 3 stars. If the staff wasn't so nice, they'd have 1 star. The atmosphere isn't great. Seems very quiet and dull. Won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend for food. But if your only nipping in for 1 drink, it's ok.

My first time in here and I am quite disappointed I have never been before! I went in on the off chance with my partner for lunch. We both had the flat bread with dirty fries to share. The food was great! It was tasty, good quality, good size. Couldn't fault it. The atmosphere was laid back and the pub itself is well kept. The guy on the floor was friendly too. We will be back

Love this bar. The food is lovely and the service is always great. We always feel welcome whether we are in for food or just a drink. Added bonus, it's very dog friendly.

I've been here with my family many times over the years and it's never fails to impress, lovely food, great atmosphere and competitively priced. Would definitely recommend The Morning Star 🌟
