Took my 14 yr old BMW here for a Halfords offer £20 MOT. Read the reviews here and questioned my sanity! Car was taken in on time and returned within the hour, passed with no advisories. Staff were pleasant and polite at all times and would use again. Take as you find and don't believe all you read online!

Fitted two front tyres paid for on line. Asked if I wanted tracking checked, but declined offer because I'd seen no evidence of tracking issues. Got two advisories - tracking advised (fishing for business) and MOT (over 11 months to go). Checked new tyres pressures a couple of days after fitting. Both half a bar below recommended. I won't be going back to this branch.

I had a booking, visited the site, the person on the desk asked me to buy some valves and come back to fit them. Then I booked a slot and they told me they don't fit customer parts. I have explained that I have been instructed from the person on the desk but they refused to change the tyre valves

Have visited this place 2 times in the past 3 months for various issues. I’m part of the Halfords motoring club therefore I get my MOT through national tyres. When I went for my MOT I was told that it had failed due to the rear 2 tyres. Fine not a problem and was advised that 2 tyres would cost me just short of £180 which I felt was a little steep but I agreed for the work to be carried out along with a headlight alignment the total coming just a few pennies over £192. When I arrived at the garage to pay the £192 I was now told that it was going to cost me £208, I didn’t really think to much into it until I got home and checked my receipt to which I had found they had snook on £14 worth of extended warranty which I did not ask nor want. I have now just returned from another visit to this garage to have brake check of which I am now £271 out of pocket for brakes and discs. They also advised me that my shock absorbers were leaking and they will need to be replaced bringing the potential spend today to over £800. Considering that I had my MOT done at the end of October you would imagine that they would have seen this issue there and then, when I queried this they said they only do a visual inspection on the brakes and shocks and at that time they must have been fine. Isn’t it mental how these things deteriorate so rapidly is such a short space of time? Well I only agreed to replacement of the discs and pads on this occasion to which as I am paying I look to my right to see a large yellow sign advising that faulty shock absorbers can affect your braking distance up to 22m at 70 mph, coincidence? Surely not. I have also noticed they never give you an option as to what they put on your vehicle, is it a budget part? Is it a better brand? Nobody knows. I would also add that if you are to visit this garage you better take something to pass the time, go watch a film at Cineworld or time it for the afternoon session at the Gala bingo because you willl be waiting there a while. Today I dropped my keys off at 11:05 and didn’t walk out of the door until just after 2pm. There is a real lack of urgency is this place. This will be my last time returning to this particular garage.

Booked for MOT and Full service, but these Un-professional cowboys billed me extra 500 pounds for no reason; they ordered wrong parts twice, had to get the car back second week; compkete disaster, thuggish attitude by the staff, they stolen documents from my car; the parts were installed wrongly and had to waste my time, awaiting for the simple work ( charged over 700 in total) ! Do not book or use such cowboys! You'll regret booking with them, this place is not busy, dye to such thuggish behaviour by their unprofessional staff
