This is misleading, as I wished to learn more about Whitelands Mill but you have illustrated Wellington Mill further down Whitelands Road towards Stalybridge. My grandmother worked there when it was still a cotton mill but, by coincidence, so did I, many years later, when it was the headquarters of the Ashton Reporter Group of Newspapers. Coming from the Ashton end, Whitelands Mill was accessed over a hump-backed canal bridge and you turned immediately left into the forecourt. I was hoping to learn about its construction and age. Your mistaken entry is no help at all -- sadly. Wrong Mill, wrong place.
