Wood burning stoves:
These stoves only burn wood and generally don’t have a grate, as wood requires air to flow over the top of it in order to combust, not below it.
Wood is a carbon neutral fuel as the carbon it releases, is off set by the carbon it takes in when growing.
Wood is highly efficient and will burn to almost nothing leaving very little ash, in fact, he only part eft is the bark.
It is also a much cleaner to use fuel and is kinder to the appliance, to you and the climate.
However, it is really important that the wood you burn is seasoned to the right level in order to avoid unnecessary emissions.
Multi fuel Stoves:
These stoves allow you to burn both wood and coal.
The main “build” difference to a wood burner only stove is that there is a grid like grate where coal sits and is elevated, allowing the air to flow beneath the fuel which aids the combustion process.
Coal does produce more Co2 than wood and requires more cleaning but it does burn for longer and if you just want to have the option of burning coal, every now and then, a multifuel stove maybe the the right choice for you.

In December, soon after we had to abandon using our traditional multi-fuel open fire place due to a leaking chimney, we realised that its replacement required a major work. The project became easy and tension-free largely due to the clarity and openness Mark and his colleagues demonstrated in dealing with us. We are vey happy with the way they helped us to modernise an outdated mode of keeping our home heated. We do not hesitate to recommend Mark and his team for their workmanship, creativeness , trustworthiness and professional competence.

5 star service from start to finish. Nicola was a great source of information when I was choosing my stove and Mark and his team did a great job with the installation. They turned up on time, worked cleanly and completed the job in less than a day. If you are thinking of buying a log burner, I would recommend the Stove Room without hesitation!!!

Mark and the team at the Stove Room are brilliant! They completed our installation in two days. They worked so hard and without creating any mess. They took away all the bricks and rubble and left our room with a fantastic log burner. They made sure that the burner was safely installed and that it functioned perfectly before they left. Their dedication to excellent service was really clear to us. We couldn’t be more pleased. I recommend the stove room to anyone considering an installation. I rarely leave a review about anything. But for the Stove Room team I just have to recommend their exceptional and friendly service.

Nicola was very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Gave me great advice about the type of log burner I could have. Discussed my options and concerns. I really loved the Parkray stove as it has a stunning huge glass display. Mark came to survey the house and he discussed the installation process, emailed me a quote the same night. The stove was installed by a two man team both were very punctual and polite carried out a thorough job. Couldn't be more happy with the neat work. The stove has been a great added feature to my living room which is much warmer than before. I can honestly say the service provided by The Stove Room was outstanding. I struggled to find a company who could supply the stove (Clearview Pioneer 400) and limestone surround I wanted and also be able to carry out the installation, a lot of companies could supply elements, but unable to supply the complete service. Just when I was about to give up a friend recommended the Stove Room and they did an amazing job! Their sales team were extremely knowledgable and the installation team had a great eye for detail, down to how they cut the existing skirting boards flush to the start of the new surround. We've only had the stove for a couple of days and I've already recommended the Stove Room to friends, oh and Roll on winter I'm ready for you!!
